Lt. Gen. Anthony J. Rock will be the next Inspector General of the Air Force if confirmed by the Senate, the Pentagon announced Thursday.
Since 2014, Rock has served as the chief of the Office of the Defense Representative at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The inspector general is an oversight position within all government agencies, charged with investigating accusations of wrongdoing, mismanagement, and wasteful spending. The Air Force office is a branch of the Defense Department IG, led by Jon Rymer.
Rock joined the Air Force in 1982, according to service personnel records.
