The Air Force announced Friday that Brig. Gen. Brian Killough, who is now deputy chief of the Office of Security Cooperation at the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, has been selected for promotion to major general.
Along with his second star, Killough will be reassigned to the Pentagon, where he will be the director of strategy, concepts and assessments for the Air Force's deputy chief of staff for strategic plans and requirements.
Killough is a master navigator with more than 2,800 flight hours in aircraft such as the F-15E and the Tornado. He was previously director of the Air Force's Warfighter Systems Integration and Cyberspace Operations Directorate at the Pentagon, and also commanded the 42nd Air Base Wing at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama and senior Air Force military fellow to the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.
The Air Force also said Brig. Gen. Evan Miller will be reassigned to be director for logistics, engineering and security cooperation at U.S. Pacific Command's headquarters at Camp H.M. Smith in Hawaii. Miller is now director of logistics, engineering and protection for Pacific Air Forces headquarters at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii.
Col. Christopher Hill will receive his first star and replace Miller at PACAF, the Air Force said. Hill is currently deputy director for resources integration at Air Force headquarters at the Pentagon.
