An airman at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, was found dead in her room Aug. 1, the Air Force said Tuesday.
Airman 1st Class Rhianda Dillard, 20, was a cyber systems operations specialist with the 55th Strategic Communications Squadron and arrived at the base in March, according to Drew Nystrom, a representative for Offutt.
"Airman Dillard was a valued member of the 55th Wing and we send our deepest condolences to her family and friends," Nystrom said.
An autopsy could not determine the cause of death. Results from the toxicology test will take several weeks, and an investigation is ongoing.
Another airman, A1C Timothy Wilsey, 20, is being held for questioning by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations in connection with the case, and for accusations of military desertion.
The Omaha World-Herald reported that Wilsey left Offutt and traveled to Virginia before OSI agents picked him up.
The Air Force has not disclosed what connection – if any – Wilsey might have to Dillard.
