The Air Force on Friday said it has chosen 1,931 officers for promotion to major.

The bulk of those selectees — 1,903 — were in the Line of the Air Force, and the remaining 28 were chaplains.

Of the line officers chosen for promotion, 796 were in-the-zone pilots, and 22 were above-the-zone pilots. There were also 152 in-the-zone and six above-the-zone navigators, and 71 in-the-zone air battle managers.

The Air Force also chose 322 non-rated operations officers for an in-the-zone promotion, and four for an above-the-zone promotion. And there were 515 in-the-zone and 15 above-the-zone mission support officers chosen.

All of the chaplains selected for promotion were in their promotion zone. There were four chaplains considered for an above-the-zone promotion, but all were passed over.

The Air Force Personnel Center said there were 2,283 captains who were up for promotion in this cycle, resulting in an 84.6 percent selection rate.

Of all the sub-categories, in-the-zone pilots had the highest selection rate at 94.6 percent.

The list of LAF selectees can be found here, and the chaplain list can be found here.
