The Air Force met its recruiting goals for the first eight months of fiscal 2015.
In a July 31 release, the Pentagon said that the Air Force brought on 15,265 new recruits through May, in line with its goals. The Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve also met their goals, bringing on 6,030 and 4,699 new recruits, respectively.
The Air Force is also showing strong retention numbers, the Pentagon said.
Last year, the Air Force met its recruiting goals for the 15th straight year, bringing in 24,070 new recruits. This year, the Air Force is hoping to bring in 21,664 new enlisted recruits.
The Navy and Marine Corps also met their active and rReserve recruiting goals, the Pentagon said. But the Army is so far 13.5 percent short of its active-duty recruiting goals, and 9.3 percent short of its National Guard recruiting goals.
