AMARILLO, Texas — A B-52 bomber from Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City has made a safe emergency landing at a Texas airport after having mechanical trouble.
An Air Force spokesman says the heavy bomber was on a functional check flight undergoing maintenance at Tinker Air Force Base when a hydraulic problem developed.
The aircraft landed at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, where an airport official says it remained Thursday pending repairs.
Airport director Sara Freese says the three-person crew was not hurt and the B-52's landing did not affect operations at the Amarillo airport.
