AMARILLO, Texas — A B-52 bomber with mechanical trouble that made a safe emergency landing in Texas has been fixed and returned to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.

An Air Force spokesman on Tuesday said the bomber, which spent several days at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, flew back to the base on Saturday.

The plane was doing a flight check last Wednesday, following maintenance at the base in Oklahoma City, when a hydraulic problem developed. The B-52 crew declared an emergency and landed in Amarillo.

The three-person crew wasn't hurt. No cargo was on board.
