The former commander of the 96th Maintenance Group at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida was relieved of command last month.

Col. James Hall was removed by 96th Test Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Evan Dertien on Sept. 11 “due to a loss in confidence in his ability to lead the organization moving forward,” Jodi Ames, a spokeswoman for the 96th, said in an email.

Ames would not comment further on what caused Dertien to lose confidence in Hall.

A replacement for Hall has not yet been named.

Hall entered active duty in 1996. He has received a Bronze Star, a Defense Meritorious Service Medal, four Meritorious Service Medals, and a Joint Service Commendation Medal, among others.
