DeAnna May Gordon, an airman stationed at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, who had been missing since Nov. 3, was found safe and alive Wednesday, according to the Alamogordo Daily News.
Gordon was still hospitalized as of Friday for reasons not yet known, the Daily News reports.
Gordon’s adoptive mother, Esme Rivera, had expressed concern over Gordon’s mental well-being in an interview with Air Force Times on Nov. 13.
“I do know that she has anxiety and she was on medication for it and she didn’t take it with her. So, I’m worried about her health and her state of mind right now,” Rivera said at the time.
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is still investigating Gordon’s disappearance, according to reports from the Daily News.
“We don’t have very many details right now, we’re still waiting when we can go see her,” Rivera told the Daily News. “Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.”
Rivera took the opportunity to thank the Alamogordo community, police and all who helped on social media to share information regarding Gordon’s disappearance.
“I’d like to thank Air Force OSI, the Alamogordo Police Department and the investigation unit in El Paso,” she said. “I’d also like to thank everybody that put her story out there, that way we were able to find her.”
